Review

A lot happened in this book, but I think it was still the most boring of the series so far. A lot was at stake (no pun intended lol). Still, the trials got repetitive. They were all different, water, caves, fire, boars, but the story was pretty redundant. Darren faces a trial. Gets injured. Rests. Faces another trial.
There were some other good parts. We get to meet a lot of new characters. I really like Arra. She's brave and tough and the only female vampire so far. It's hard to imagine her being Mr. Crepsley's mate though.
Mr. Crepsley and Darren bonded a lot here. IT's easy to see why. Darren took on these challenges to save Mr. Crepsley integrity. That's kind of a big deal.
I knew there was something up with Kurda. I just didn't trust him. He wanted to work with the Vampaneze too much. Of course, I didn't see him killing off Gavner, though. I figured he would be against killing no matter what.
I really hope they find Darren and let him out of the execution.
